Budapest - the old town

While I'm back at work already, I still enjoy the splendid memories we made in Budapest. I seriously did not expect to fall in love with Budapest, but it's seriously an amazing city. There's so much to see, it's easy to get around, it's not swarming with people as in many other big cities and you have a lot of good food in a nice setting all around. I'm utterly sire we will revisit it at some point in life.

The most notorious part of the city is it's old part, on the Buda side of the Danube river (the other side is Pest, hence Budapest). Both parts are connected by several bridges, with the Chain Bridge as the most famous. The old part houses the Buda castle, the Fisherman's Bastion, Matthias Church, ... As a lot of the places are up hill, so the view from above is absolutely breathtaking, especially by night. The weather was also just perfect, unlike our crappy Summers.

We went to explore the Buda castle, which houses the Hungarian art collection. I love visiting art museums everywhere we go. Next to the permanent collection, we were lucky enough to catch a Picasso and Modigliani exhibit.

We ended up seeing a lot in Budapest, walking extensively, but also just chilling around. It was just perfect. I would strongly advise to visit this brilliant city.
